Trails Closed
REMINDER! Keep your speed down in residental areas or in city limits. We have worked hard to build cooperative relationships with our local cities and villages, and we want to ensure that it stays that way. You are all ambassadors for our sport and can help ensure that the trails continue to exist in Southwest Michigan and hopefully will even be able to expand in the future.
LOSS OF VALUABLE CONNECTING TRAIL -
Unfortunately, due to summertime recreational trespassing, we have lost a valuable land owner in the Hartford/Keeler/Sister Lakes areas that has dictated a change in the trail route. If you think that it’s OK to ride your quads and 4-wheelers on the same land in the summertime that we use for the snowmobile trails, thank you very much. It’s directly because of your thoughtless, irresponsible actions that have caused us the loss of a valuable land owner. I’m not making this up; it’s direct from the landowner.
This loss was pivotal in the City of Hartford where we lost the use of land that allowed direct access to the Van Buren Trail. Until we can make other arrangements, there is no posted route or trail to the VB Trailhead from the I-94 area. You’ll have to make your own way over the surface streets. We’ve had pretty good cooperation in the past from the city of Hartford, but I can tell you if there’s riding on the sidewalks and through yards, that could change quickly. Officially, there is no route through the city.
Please be careful out there and THINK SNOW!
